  National Women's Equality Day..
By a joint resolution of Congress on August 26, 1971, the first Women's Equality Day was Celebrated. Rep. Bella Abzug (D-NY) sponsored the resolution, and every year since, each president declares this day as Women's Equality Day commemorating the certification of the 19th Amendment to The United States Constitution.

MTU Afternoon on the Town.
An Afternoon on the Town is a Michigan Tech event that invites local businesses/services to welcome our students and show them what they have to offer. Starting on campus, down College Avenue, and throughout the downtown Houghton area there will be music, refreshments, giveaways, and prizes for student participants.

LWVCC Featured Organization at Keweenaw Roller Girls Solar System Smackdown Mixer..
On September 8 at 5pm at the Calumet Coliseum the League of Women Voters of the Copper Country will be the featured guest organization at the Annual Solar System Smackdown and receive the proceeds from the 50/50 raffle. The Keweenaw Roller Girls (KRG) is a flat track roller derby league based out of Hancock, MI that formed in September of 2012 for women over the age of 18. The league accepts those who are willing to work hard and have fun regardless of shape, size, orientation,and level of athleticism. Please join us for some high energy fun with the Roller Girls.
